Professor Oz M. Gazit is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and the Technion Energy Program at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He earned his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Ben-Gurion University (2004) and his Ph.D. from the Technion (2009). His research focuses on advanced functional materials, heterogeneous catalysis, and sustainable conversion of biomass, plastics, CO₂, natural gas, and waste streams into fuels and value-added chemicals. He has led and coordinated major research programs, including a 15.1 million NIS alternative fuels consortium (2025–2029), and has secured substantial national and international funding. Professor Gazit serves as Vice-Dean of Graduate Students in Chemical Engineering (since 2020), has authored more than 45 peer-reviewed publications, and holds multiple patents. He was recently awarded the Technion Commendation for Excellence in Teaching (2025).
