Four administrations are available:
Population administration – Responsible for all issues in the areas of registration and passports, citizenship and status, visas, family reunification, immigration and returns.
Administration of foreign workers – Responsible for regulating the employment of the foreign workers. The administration deals with granting licenses to personnel corporations and permits for the employment of foreign workers and issuing visas to foreign workers in accordance with the policies and employment quotas established by the government.
Enforcement and Foreigners Administration – responsible for enforcing the laws relating to the stay of foreigners and the employment of foreigners. The administration is working to reduce the number of illegal residents, and at the same time it is working to protect the rights of the foreign workers. Also, the administration is responsible for handling infiltrators and asylum seekers.
Border Control Administration – responsible for operating the border crossings and performing border control at Israel’s 21 international border crossings.
