Mandel’s leadership programs develop the ability to analyze reality and redefine problems and solutions, based on systemic understanding and comparative knowledge, and from awareness of the variety of value choices relevant to any professional decision.

The combination between practical and theoretical studies in the professional field, and spiritual studies, which reveal the value dimension involved in all decision-making processes, is the combination that distinguishes the foundation’s leadership programs.

Mandel graduates, who come from all avenues of society in Israel, are spread throughout the country, and each one contributes in his field and according to his values, to the improvement of the education systems, society and culture, and leads many initiatives both in the government service and in non-profit organizations.

The Mandel-Israel Foundation has been operating since the early 1990s, through its five units: the Mendel School for Educational Leadership, the Mendel Institute for Leadership, the Mendel Center for Leadership in the Negev, the Mendel Center for Leadership in the North, and the Mandel Alumni and Alumni Unit.

The fund’s activities are organized and financed by the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation, which was established in the USA in 1953. The foundation works to improve the quality of life and the prosperity of just, tolerant, benevolent and democratic societies in the United States and Israel.

פרופסור אמריטוס בבית הספר לחינוך באוניברסיטת תל אביב. במהלך כהונתו היה ראש המגמה לתכנון לימודים, ראש ההתמחות בחינוך דמוקרטי, ראש החוג למדיניות ומנהל החינוך, מופקד הקתדרה לחינוך יהודי וראש בית הספר. תחומי מחקרו הם ההיסטוריה של החינוך בארץ ישראל, שילוב מחקר היסטורי עם קביעת מדיניות חינוכית עכשווית, חינוך קיבוצי וחינוך בלתי פורמלי.
