The Israeli Center for Research and Policy Promotion in Diabetes named after Dr. Pesach Segal

The center’s main fields of activity are research, public health policy and therapeutic education.

Goals and objectives of the center:

• To initiate and carry out studies that will form the basis for decision makers when determining health policy in the field of diabetes and its prevention.
• To develop new tools, methods and models: to evaluate digital and other technologies in the field of diabetes, to provide healthcare services for the prevention and treatment of diabetes, to improve the quality of diabetes care and to budget short-term and long-term interventions.
• Recommend national priorities in the field of diabetes.
• To promote research, teaching and education in the field of diabetes in Israel and around the world.
• To provide the public and decision-makers in the health system and beyond with information, data and recommendations regarding dealing with diabetes at the various levels.
• To maintain mutual relations and cooperation with centers in Israel in the world dealing with diabetes research and policy.

The four main roles of the center :

• Knowledge and information center.
• Initiative and development center in the fields of health policy, training programs, intervention programs and educational programs.
• Pedagogical center.
