The mission of the center is to serve as a body of action, knowledge and information in the field of diabetes, its causes, complications, consequences, ways of preventing it and means of treating it, with the aim of leading a transformation in the perception of health services in the field of diabetes and chronic illness in Israel, in the way they are provided and in the results obtained.

The center’s main fields of activity are research, public health policy and therapeutic education.

Goals and objectives of the center:

  • To initiate and carry out studies that will form the basis for decision makers when determining health policy in the field of diabetes and its prevention.
  • To develop new tools, methods and models: to evaluate digital and other technologies in the field of diabetes, to provide healthcare services for the prevention and treatment of diabetes, to improve the quality of diabetes care and to budget short-term and long-term interventions.
  • Recommend national priorities in the field of diabetes.
  • To promote research, teaching and education in the field of diabetes in Israel and around the world.
  • To provide the public and decision-makers in the health system and beyond with information, data and recommendations regarding dealing with diabetes at the various levels.
  • To maintain mutual relations and cooperation with centers in Israel in the world dealing with diabetes research and policy.

The four main roles of the center :

  • research center.
  • Knowledge and information center.
  • Initiative and development center in the fields of health policy, training programs, intervention programs and educational programs.
  • Pedagogical center.

מנהלת-מייסדת של המרכז הישראלי לחקר וקידום מדיניות בסוכרת וחברה במועצה הלאומית לסוכרת, שימשה מנהלת מדעית של עמותת ‘די-קיור’ וכן מנהלת ‘מיזם עוצמה, אשר עסק בפיתוח תוכניות למניעת סוכרת, שיפור היצמדות המטופלים לתוכנית הטיפול והעצמה של המטופל ובני משפחתו. תחומי העניין המרכזיים שלה הם קידום בריאות, חינוך טיפולי, שינוי התנהגות בתחום הבריאות, בדגש על סוכרת ומניעתה, ומדיניות וחיזוי טכנולוגיות רפואיות. בעלת תואר ראשון ושני במדעי החיים מאוניברסיטת תל אביב, תואר שני בניהול מערכות בריאות מאוניברסיטת בן גוריון בנגב, תואר שלישי בתחום טכנולוגיות לטיפול בסוכרת מהפקולטה לרפואה שבאוניברסיטת תל אביב. בשנים 2014-2013 עסקה במחקר במרכז לבטיחות המטופל שבבית החולים בריגהם ונשים בבוסטון במסגרת בתר-דוקטורט
