Aharon Chachanover is an Israeli biochemist, a professor at the Technion and the first Israeli scientist to win the Nobel Prize. The research led to the development of essential drugs for the treatment of cancer and also developments for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases of the brain such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. He won dozens of awards and since winning the Nobel Prize he has received about 46 “Honorary Doctorate” degrees from academic institutions around the world.
