Since 1914, the joint has been operating in 70 countries and provides a safety net for Jews in need, strengthens and builds Jewish communities and provides relief and rescue services in times of crisis and disaster.
In Israel, the Joint operates as Israel’s social development center, in strategic cooperation with the government, authorities, the third and business sectors and other partners, who together shape Israel’s social future. All this within the framework of several strategic partnerships with the Israeli government:
>> Joint-Eschel: developing solutions for optimal aging
>> Joint-Ashelim: developing solutions to promote social leadership
>> Joint-Tabet: developing solutions for integration into employment and increasing productivity and promoting partnership and involvement of the ultra-Orthodox society
>> Joint-Israel beyond limitations: developing solutions to promote independent living for people with disabilities
>> Joint-Elka: developing solutions to promote the efficiency and usefulness of public systems
Also, the joint together with the National Insurance Funds established the Beehive – the social father of Israel.
Since the joint was established, the organization has invested over 10 billion NIS in the social and humanitarian needs of Israeli society. Joint Israel reflects the commitment of Diaspora Jewry to take part in the efforts of the people of Israel to build a solid society.
The organization builds the infrastructure of dozens of programs, social services and initiatives that change the face of society in Israel. Children and youth at risk grow up for a better future, the elderly can age in the community with dignity, people with disabilities live independently in the community, the unemployed integrate and advance in quality employment and the social systems work effectively.

מנהלת תוכניות בג’וינט אלכא משנת 2017. במסגרת עבודתה הייתה שותפה לפיתוחן וניהולן של מגוון תוכניות ותהליכים ארגוניים של בכירים ומומחים ממשרדי ממשלה, השלטון המקומי ומהחברה האזרחית. ביניהן, תוכניות עתודה לפיתוח מנהיגות וסוכני שינוי בתחום הרווחה, המיסוי והדיגיטציה, תוכניות להעמקת ההיכרות ושיתופי הפעולה בין מגזרים בתחומים שונים ועוד. לפני הצטרפותה לאלכ”א, עבדה לבבית בצמוד למנכ”ל ארגון בינלאומי גדול והובילה בארגון את שינוי התרבות הארגונית.
זאת לאחר כעשור בהן לבבית שימשה כיועצת ארגונית בכירה, בחברה לייעוץ ארגוני פיתוח והדרכה. לבבית בעלת תואר שני בסוציולוגיה ארגונית עם התמחות בהנחיית קבוצות מאוניברסיטת בר אילן, תואר ראשון בעבודה סוציאלית מהאוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. בוגרת לימודי מנהיגות ולימודי אימון בארגון בינלאומי.
יעל עובדת בג’וינט אלכא משנת 2018. במסגרת עבודתה שותפה בפיתוח מענים חדשניים בשדה שיתופיות, מנהלת פרויקטים מגוונים בתחום, ומלווה תהליכים לקידום שיתופי פעולה בין מגזריים, ולחיזוק והעמקת ההכרות של המגזר השלישי והמגזר הציבורי.
